The Inn ILP for Multnomah County (PDX-ILP)

A Program for Current and Former Foster Youth

Mission:

ILP Sparks excitement in youth to take charge of their individual path to success. We are committed to expanding opportunities and building supportive relationships that encourage youth to take an active role in our community.
Our Youth Transition Specialists (YTS) work with 14-21 year old young adults who are current or former foster youth preparing to transition to adulthood. They assist and guide youth through the areas of Education, Employment, Housing, Health, Transportation, Life Skills (banking, cooking, etc.), and Supportive Relationships/ Community Connections, as outlined in a transition plan. For many young adults, enrollment in ILP gains them access to state funds for housing and/or education especially set aside for foster youth.

Youth

Our participants can come from foster homes, group homes or independent living situations. Some are homeless or in precarious housing situations. They are high school students, college students, employed individuals, or currently seeking an education or employment opportunity.

All youth have to be referred by their DHS case worker.

Oregon Food Bank Classes If the youth has already been emancipated from DHS care and custody, then they need to contact Stacey Mahler @ 971-673-2041 to find out how to get an ILP referral from her.

Our program is voluntary, meaning it is up to the youth to decide if they want to be a part of the program.

Our program is youth driven, meaning the youth decide what life goals and objectives our case managers assist them with.
