Host Homes

Springwater is collaborating with the North Clackamas School District and the faith-based community to operate a pilot program called Host Home. With only seven beds, Springwater is able to house only a small percentage of homeless youth in our community. Additionally, we believe that many youth would do better in stable and supportive host home situations of their choosing instead of a transitional program.

Initially, we will be supporting homeless students who have found another family to live with while they continue school. Our hope is that with help finding resources for food, health insurance, transportation, funds for extracurricular fees, and family mediation, situations that have been temporary can be extended at least until the end of the school year. In the future, we will be working to have supportive host homes in all areas of the county, so all homeless youth can maintain as much stability in their lives as possible and deserve.
